About Our Hall located in Townstal, Dartmouth

Townstal Community Hall is for the community to give a facility & open space at a cost-effective price for its residents. It is a single level modern building with its own free car park.

The hall is set in the upper part of the beautiful town of Dartmouth just off the A3122 main road.

The building and grounds are owned by the charity called Townstal Community Hall Association. The trustees of this charity, hold a committee of local residents to account for how it runs the hall.

The land the hall sits on was donated free of charge to the charity to build this facility.  It was built with funding from the National Lottery with the remaining balance made up by South Hams District Council, Dartmouth Town Council, Devon County Council and a local generous private donor.

The premise’s day to day running is managed by a voluntary committee with the charities Trustee oversite.  All Trustees and volunteers are all unpaid and do this to give back to the local community. The only paid member is a caretaker. This means all income from the hire of the hall and meeting rooms are reinvested back into the premises.

This community hub is where you can hold your club meetings, teach new things to people, hold business meetings, have children’s birthday parties with height of room ideal for bouncy castles, hold large dinner parties, have a fete in the car park and on and on.  The list is endless.

You do not have to be a resident to hire either room, we just ask you respect the premises and leave in good order.

Our caretaker on hand to manage bookings, security & maintenance.
